Dubbed “Mobilegeddon” by many experts in search engine optimisation, this change whereby mobile friendliness is used as a ranking signal in search results was [officially announced by Google back in February](http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.sg/2015/02/finding-more-mobile-friendly-search.html "Finding more mobile-friendly search results"): > _“Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results.”_ This strategic move comes without surprise considering that about [60% of total Internet traffic now comes from mobile](http://www.comscore.com/Insights/Blog/Major-Mobile-Milestones-in-May-Apps-Now-Drive-Half-of-All-Time-Spent-on-Digital "Comscore Report Mobile "). In other words, your website will be demoted in Google’s mobile search results. And if you are not visible in Google’s mobile search results, fewer people will see your website (and in particular those visitors most keen to take action), your traffic will decrease and ultimately you will lose revenue. # Is Your Website Mobile-Friendly?
